When Ben and I founded Archy in 2021, the problem was close to home. My wife is a dentist, and I’d been helping her manage the technology at her practice. That experience became the foundation for our mission: make the business of running a dental practice easier, so dental teams have more time to care for patients.
Today, we’re announcing a $50 million Series C led by JMI Equity, along with our existing investors TCV, Entrée Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, CRV, and Alven. This funding will help us accelerate the development of AI agents that take on more of the everyday work across a practice.
It’s a big step for Archy. What matters most to me is what we can build with it.
Running a dental practice means keeping up with an enormous amount of work around every appointment: checking insurance, managing schedules, documenting care, submitting claims, collecting payments, and answering patient questions. Staffing shortages make that work even harder to keep up with.
The software behind it should make things easier. Yet many practices still rely on decades-old systems connected to a patchwork of separate tools. Every gap between those tools creates more work for someone on the team.
We built Archy to bring that work together: Scheduling, charting, imaging, payments, and patient communications in one platform. That shared foundation is also central to how we’re building AI.
When we talk about a “system of action,” we mean software that can help carry work forward. Checking coverage before an appointment. Turning a completed visit into clinical notes. Following up on an outstanding insurance payment. These are specific jobs that take time out of a team’s day, and they’re where we believe AI can make a meaningful difference.
Our agents, including those already in use and others in development, span five areas:
- Archy Revenue: filing claims, collecting insurance payments, and following up on outstanding collections.
- Archy Scribe: turning completed appointments into SOAP notes, hands-free.
- Archy Verify: checking insurance coverage and patient eligibility.
- Archy Connect: managing patient communications and scheduling.
- Archy Insight: turning practice data into clear answers and opportunities for growth.
Along with this, we’ve seen incredible growth and are now serving 1,000 practices across 45 states. Those practices care for millions of patients, and we process more than $300 million in payments each year. Our team has grown to 130 people, all working on a product that dental teams rely on every day.
Those numbers come with a responsibility: dental teams depend on Archy to run their businesses and support their patients every day. As we grow, we have to keep earning that trust through the product we build and the support we provide.
I’m grateful to the practices that have put their trust in us, to our team, and to the investors supporting this next stage. We’re excited to welcome JMI Equity as we keep building toward the goal that started all of this: giving dental teams more time for their patients, their practices, and their lives outside of work.
